MEMORY WORDSEARCH DISCOVER
Play 'memory' first. Click on the the embedded mp3 sound samples and hear the hidden words instead of just clicking at random. Find matching pairs and then click on the correct word or word groups underneath. Play 'wordsearch' next. You can hover the mouse on the pictures to see the words or word groups. Then search in the random array of letters. Print out the screen on paper as an alternative. Each reload generates a new unique random array. When ready, try the hangman style 'discover' game. Now you must try and recall the spelling of the word or phrases. Repeat 'memory' and 'wordsearch' if necessary.

The games are customisable
to use any set of pictures and sounds,
but please don't stop there! - There's a good reason that no direct word for word translations are made. Try using the games to supplement whole texts or stories which place the vocabulary in a context. Select the key vocabulary from a specific paragraph or chapter and use the games to support and prepare for listening, following and reading that whole text. Avoid using the spelling game (Discover) until students have first identified the words or word groups in the main text and understood their meaning in context.
